Is Arlo really free?
Yes. The free plan has no card, no trial clock, and no expiry date. You get real usage every month: text Arlo as much as you like within fair use, connect Gmail, Calendar and 3,000+ tools, and it remembers everything. You only need a paid plan when you want Arlo working in the background while you're away.
What's actually different on Pro?
Two things. Pro runs your replies on the frontier AI models instead of the fast ones, so it reasons harder on difficult asks. And Pro is what lets Arlo work when you're not texting it: watching your inbox, sending morning briefs, running recurring automations, watching prices and listings, placing phone calls, and doing deep research.
What happens when I hit the free limit?
Nothing breaks and nothing is cut off mid-task. Arlo keeps answering you. If you're a heavy user it may mention once that Pro lifts the limits, and it won't bring it up again. The only hard stop is a monthly fair-use ceiling that almost nobody reaches.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. The free plan never asks for one. A card is only needed if you start the 7-day Pro trial, and Arlo texts you before the trial ends so a charge is never a surprise.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your billing settings and it takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for. You drop back to the free plan and keep your memory, your connections, and your history — you're never locked out.
Is annual cheaper?
Yes. Pro is $16/mo billed annually ($192/yr) versus $20 month-to-month, and Max is $80/mo billed annually ($960/yr) versus $100. Both start with 7 days free.
