Hark Pro vs Muse: apps, WhatsApp, pricing and permissions

Hark Pro and Meta Muse use cloud computers to complete tasks. Hark emphasizes its proactive Home screen, Projects and Handoff browser agent; Muse also supports WhatsApp. Both offer free use and paid plans. Start with availability, then compare the interface and account access your task needs.

Hark Pro is reached in its app; Meta Muse is reached in its app or WhatsApp. This is an interaction diagram, not a product screenshot.

Both products promise to act across websites and connected accounts. The useful comparison is where you want to ask, whether the product is available to you and which actions you are comfortable authorizing.

We make Arlo, another personal assistant. The official sources linked here were checked 2 November 2026. This compares Hark Pro from hark.com with Meta's Muse using published capabilities, not hands-on performance results.

Hark: Home, Projects and Handoff

Hark's homepage organizes its pitch around an ongoing conversation, Projects, a proactive home screen and Handoff. If you want a dedicated place to manage browser-based errands, that is a reason to try it.

Start with a small task before connecting more accounts. A research result, a list of available options and an actual booking are different outcomes. Check which one you receive. This advice applies to both products.

Choose Muse if its app or WhatsApp fits you

Meta's Muse announcement describes an agent in its own app or WhatsApp, running on a dedicated cloud computer. That may fit someone who wants to delegate through WhatsApp instead of always opening a separate app.

Availability comes first. Meta's current subscription help says Muse remains in limited testing and is not available everywhere. Check your account before planning a workflow around a feature or plan.

Hark has feature-level regional limits too: its privacy policy says Memory is unavailable in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland. Check the feature you need, not just whether you can sign up.

Free plans: compare limits, not the label

Both publish free use and paid options. Hark describes paid usage multipliers. Meta lists weekly token allowances: 500 million on Power and 3 billion on Max. Neither figure tells you how many of your errands will finish. We have not measured equivalent tasks across the two.

A fair comparison starts with the same job and includes all costs: assistant usage, any required add-on and merchant charges. A paid assistant plan does not cover the cost of the item it buys for you. For the broader field, see Hark alternatives and Muse alternatives.

Permissions before a real transaction

Hark's terms describe how it can act on your behalf through connected accounts. Meta's announcement describes asking for approval around actions such as purchases and sends. Review the settings you actually enable; do not assume every action always receives a fresh approval.

Hark's privacy policy excludes account content from model training except feedback you submit. Meta's Muse safety documentation describes its own architecture. These published policies and designs are not an independent audit or a guarantee that an agent will never make a mistake.

For an initial trial, ask for options without a purchase: “Find two restaurants near the station for four on Friday after eight. Show the choices; do not reserve or pay.” This is an illustrative brief, not a reported test result. Compare the relevance of the choices and respect for the stopping point.

If you prefer iMessage or SMS

Arlo is another option for personal calls, bookings and everyday tasks through Messages or WhatsApp, plus Slack for work. It can call a business, navigate menus and wait on hold. It checks when a request is unclear, would spend money or cannot be undone.

Arlo pricing has its current free allowance and call rates.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Hark Pro and Muse? Hark emphasizes its proactive app and Handoff browser agent. Meta Muse uses its own cloud computer and also supports WhatsApp. Compare availability, required access and the task you want completed.

Which is free? Both publish free usage with limits and paid options for more. Hark's pricing page does not state a fixed free task count. Check current account limits rather than assuming either is unlimited.

Can I use Hark Pro or Muse on WhatsApp? Meta's announcement lists WhatsApp for Muse. The Hark product pages reviewed describe its own apps, not a direct WhatsApp assistant channel. Confirm your account's current availability.

Which is cheaper? Both publish $20 and $100 monthly paid options, but the allowances are not equivalent task counts. We have not measured equal workloads. Check your actual checkout, region and expected task usage.
