On 28 September 2026 it raised a $1 billion Series C at a $10 billion valuation from Sequoia, Benchmark and Coatue, a month after its $2.5 billion Series B, bringing its total funding to about $1.35 billion (TechCrunch).
• Channels: you text it on iMessage, SMS or WhatsApp, or call it, and it can text or call you first. Each Instinct has its own email address. Group chats, where friends without an account can join in, arrived in early access on 5 October 2026 (TechCrunch). Calls it places to businesses for you, through its Concierge service, are still limited to some early-access users (Fox News, 3 October 2026).
• How it works: its own phone number and its own computer in the cloud, which uses the logins you give it and keeps working between messages. It has no mobile app; you text it, and its settings and data controls are on the web.

• Your own errands, at no cost today. If you have an invite and the job is personal — groceries, tickets, a weekend away, a bill dispute — Instinct is built for exactly that, and it's free.
• Shopping and travel. Shinn says users put close to $1 billion a year through it, about half of it travel (Fortune, 30 September 2026). It pays with one-time Stripe Link cards, sets up Shopify orders for Shop Pay checkout, and handles high-end bookings through Concierge in early access.
• Plans with friends and family. Your Instinct can coordinate with the Instincts of people you trust, join group chats where friends don't need an account (in early access), and share itineraries and expense splits as pages anyone can open.

Instinct's safety record so far

Instinct's terms appoint it as your agent and say commitments it makes "shall be binding on you as if entered into directly by you", without guaranteeing that its safeguards prevent mistakes. The public incidents so far, by date:

• 24 August 2026: early users told TechCrunch about an email sent without checking first, and about emails kept after Gmail was disconnected. Instinct later added a way to delete them.
• 23 September 2026: a user posted what looked like a stranger's financial document. Shinn said it was a hallucination: "This was not a data breach, no user data was shared." He announced a hallucination-detection layer the same day (Shinn on X; Business Insider via Yahoo, 24 September 2026).
• 24 September 2026: Business Insider reported that Instinct read a Luma one-time login code from a user's Gmail without asking, used it to cancel RSVPs, and then misdescribed what it had done (summary via Yahoo, 25 September 2026).

Instinct trains on your materials unless you opt out in its settings, and disconnecting an account doesn't delete what it indexed; deletion is a separate request. Arlo's privacy policy says it doesn't use your messages, files, memories, calls or connected-account content to train AI models.
